Homeward Bound sDAO – January 13, 2025 Report

3rd Report

Since the last report, the Homeward Bound sDAO has continued efforts to examine and connect with potential L1 partners. Given the holiday season and the variable work schedules that go along with it, availability of L1 leadership for direct collaboration has been difficult. At the same time, exciting strides by the Andromeda team and the market in general continue to alter the potential deal landscape rapidly. This is particularly so about the emerging AI capabilities that are being added and refined daily as the AI industry continues to expand. The sDAO believes that this expanding capability within Andromeda has the potential to lead to the best opportunities in terms of a potential migration – particularly in terms of generating excitement and willingness from migration targets to lend both community and technical support necessary to ensure the success of any potential migration.

In addition to facilitating communication after holiday schedules, there are several strategic events unfolding that could provide significant interest for the consideration of potential L1s and which support the continued efforts of the sDAO, including the aforementioned AI developments, aOS IBC developments and recent UI/UX efforts, and the Cosmos restructuring with SKIP joining ICF prioritizing connectivity/unification of the ecosystem.

In order to maintain continuity of the project and allow ongoing development without an undue lag in moving the technology forward, it appears that any successful migration will require either L1 financial support or other outside investment. Of those options, L1 support makes the most sense, as an investment of finances along with community, tech support, and general “buy-in” better positions Andromeda for success after migration.

Our efforts and analysis so far: :

  • We analyzed Solana, Injective, Thorchain, Osmosis, and Sui

  • Our Primary L1 targets based on the analysis, presented from the smallest investment and least amount of time and effort required are 1) Injective (integration complete), 2) THORChain (noteworthy tech effort to integrate) 3) Solana (complete rewrite of the operating system to maintain the same smart contract functionality);

  • Based on the holiday period, efforts will continue to contact Injective, be watchful of recent events and the effects on THORchain, and other leadership teams to seek investment/marketing/community support for a migration;

  • If aOS migration is supported by a strategic investment/marketing/native community support, the timeline to switch current aOS Economic Engine “shipping" focus to migration which might extend from six-twelve months depending on which L1 supports the project.

According to its charter, Homeward Bound sDAO is set to expire on January 15, 2025. Based on tech and strategic business assessment, sDAO analysis, rapidly-developing AI capabilities, and the limited availability of L1 leadership leading up to and during the 2024 holiday season, the Committee believes the search for L1 commitment of an aOS migration should continue and will require further efforts into Q1 2025. As such, the sDAO requests the Community allow it another two (2) months to continue seeking information and opportunities in line with its objectives.

Recent, and important developments with our Wall Street real world asset (RWA) project has given the sDAO interesting news that maintaining the ANDR chain for RWA use with an established financial products firm might be the most significant reason to remain focused on ANDR. All of the above remains worthy of HBsDAO efforts while contracts are signed and the use of Andromeda technology is used to transform a well established TradFi business.

Other Business

Finally, though not strictly within the limited charter of the Homeward Bound sDAO, there are several areas in which the sDAO recommends action for the purpose of improving operations and community trust within Andromeda. Any improvements across the board will serve to increase the attractiveness of Andromeda to potential L1 migration partners or, in the absence of migration, will still be beneficial to the project and its stakeholders.

  • Q1 2025. Demonstrate IBC capabilities with protocol integrations to potential home chains
  • Remove Shade as an ANDR LP (Primarily community and investor concerns)
  • Integrate with Osmosis in Q1 2025 with a multi-chain smart contract capability they seek that is unique to all crypto
  • Integrate (token movements), (regardless of potential migration) the aOS (tech hardship), with Solana either by direct integration or through other L1

Additionally, the sDAO wants to call out that Andromeda has taken/or has announced plans to take a series of steps to address concerns and rebuild trust, community, and proof of product economic capability. These efforts are important and show promise for the future.

  1. Trust.
  • 12/2024. Contracted with Deep3 (https://www.deep3.ai/) for an arms length on-chain analysis in search of 2024 ANDR price ¶ answers (contract executed Dec 2024, in work);
  • 1/25. Established a new Treasury System using the SAFE model and treasury operations guided with a 3 of 5 multi-signature standard, one of the three must be the Andromeda CPA;
  • Jan 2025. Establishing a bi-monthly developer update of aOS development progress;
  1. Community Redevelopment.

Andromeda planned actions, primarily to answer community and investor concerns over 2024 loss of community. Thesis: community trust/usage/feedback and support is essential project fuel for successful product to market fit.

  • Jan 2025. Invite the Rise In developer community to test and act as ’super users” for Open -source Onboarding Platform (“OOP”) feedback and UX;
  • Jan 2025. Debut the Developer OOP for onboarding developers at scale;
  • Jan 2025. Pursue OOP partnership opportunities with large developer entities;
  1. Debut Andromeda AI Capabilities;

  • Mirroring the rapidly changing AI industry developments, Andromeda AI is increasing and changing almost daily. Andromeda AI and OpenSource OnBoarding capability may be the turning point for Andromeda community development, aOS adoption, and our primary focus of product-to-market fit.

  • Continue current efforts to become part of the ai16z “Eliza” program and API development into the aOS web app;

  • Continue internal AI coding and workflow acceleration for aOS capability development;

  • Demonstrate AI-enhanced developer/community onboarding with OOP (Q1)

  • Demonstrate Andromeda and Deep3 partnership capabilities

  • Text to Andromeda App deployment

  • Continue to explore AI NFTs

  1. aOS capability

  • Jan 2025. Demonstrate aOS multi-chain smart contact functionalities to Osmosis;
  • Q1 2025. Test and improve Andromeda’s 30 ADOs and 10 L1 chain building UX possibilities

Referencing the above 3rd report. HBsDAO requests a community vote to extend our current community mandate to 31 March, 2025. Proposal to be posted shortly.

Monthly Report, February 2025

aOS attractiveness for Migration support (Funding, marketing, business model alignment, community support) is not complete as of this month.

Pending Q1 2025 milestones to increase aOS attractiveness:

aOS UX upgrade
Multi-chain IBC debut
AI OpenSource OnBoarding Platform (OOP) completion
Community Development
Network Effects, Atomic network development (leveraging OOP, and our university programs)

The status of the Wall Street RWA tokenization project is in funding and legal final deal making negotiations. The outcome of those negotiations may affect migration decisions as the project funding requires use of the ANDR chain for increased utilization.

Homeward Bound SDAO (HBsD)

Final Report, March 2025

In accordance with the community vote driven HBsDAO original mandate, and the majority vote extension to March 31, 2025, our final report is submitted.

General.

The primary responsibilities of this sDAO were to determine whether there are any viable options for Andromeda and aOS to migrate to a new home chain, inform the community of its findings and, if appropriate, make a recommendation to the community as to the best option moving forward.

At this time, based on months of study, attempted engagements, conversations and pitches with: new potential investors, multiple tech team due diligence looks, feedback from over 1,000 web3 developers of various experience, industry leaders, and observing Andromeda 12 integrated L1 developer uses of aOS, we find that in its current state, aOS is not a viable candidate for migration to another chain.

That said, there is a small number (estimating 50) of developers that can understand aOS and see its potential. That number is too small to compel chain leadership, strategic investment, or the dedicated support required to undertake a migration.

Tokenomics.

The nature of Andromeda’s tokenomics assumptions were designed based on an assumption of broad multi-chain, multi-ecosystem demand for aOS and ANDR. Without PMF or significant demand and utilization, we find changing ANDR tokenomics numbers premature.

Fiscal reporting.

HBsDAO did not request funds from the Andromeda Treasury. No expenses were recorded, or required.

Recommendations.

Close HBsDAO until further development of aOS proves PMF at sufficient scale to attract migration partners. Once aOS becomes attractive to other L-1 ecosystems, Andromeda leadership will keep the community informed of discussions and progress.

Final Thoughts.

We recognize that the history of start-ups are ideation, try and fail, learn, try and fail again, or find a market large enough that sees a project’s value, or answer to a need sufficient enough to create project sustainability. We also note that there are proven methods of improving the chances of a start up finding a sustainable business model.

As part of any transformation of Andromeda in the immediate, we strongly recommend a decisive leadership move toward any and all of those techniques, campaigns, and strategies to give Andromeda the greatest opportunity to succeed.

Further, we believe that Incorporating those best practices as quickly as prudent gives Andromeda the best chance to revisit the original mandate of the HBsDAO.
